All students who are enroled in the programme of Diploma in Sport and Recreation specializing in golf coaching will join as a member of Gulf Harbour Country Club which is a coastal playground, just 30 minutes from AUT's Akoranga Campus.
This golf course is a challenging 18 hole, 6,483 metre, par 72 course that appeals to every one who demand a high standard of facilities. The back nine is especially astounding with spectacular ocean front holes that are tramed by the sparking blue water of the Haruaki Gulf.
Nowhere is that more apparent than on the course's signature hole, the 424 metre, par four 16th, which plays over a ravine onto a fairway with rugged ocean front along its entire length. The course has the potential to be one of the best championship course in the world, and has already created international attention, having hosted the prestigious World Cup of Golf in November 1998.
Students will learn and practice golf skills by two of famous NZ Professionals who have the experiences for golf coaching over 30 years and can have a round of golf everyday without extra charges and use all of its facilities such as heated swimming pool, gymnasium, saunas, spas, tennis and squash courts.
